Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic and friendly team within a busy GP practice. Our organisation really does make a difference for people within our community. With no two days ever being the same.

This is a key role to join our admin team as an administrator.

This role is worked over three days for 26 hours per week.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of the role is to complete all administrative tasks for the whole of the practice including:

Actioning emails

Uploading documents into the system

Scanning post

Supporting the practice in all admin procedures

Registrations and Deductions

Summarising notes

Amending patient data

Craneswater Group Practice is a busy doctors practice within the heart of Southsea, just a stones throw from the seafront. We have over 12,500 patients and a team of 40. This is made up of six GP Partners two salaried GPS, Three Nurse Practitioners and three HCAs. We are responsible for providing friendly, caring and timely medical services to our patients

We are a training practice and continually develop all our team.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Actioning incoming correspondence to a shared mailbox, including forwarding correspondence onto appropriate staff members and readying emailed documents for processing.

Uploading documents to the clinical system, including the coding of new problems, linking the document to existing conditions, and ensuring the requested clinical and administrative actions are completed

Ensuring incoming post is scanned and uploaded to the clinical system in a timely manner, and outgoing post is collated and sent each day

Monitoring and actioning incoming administrative tasks from other health care providers, including reallocating tasks to the relevant member of clinical or administrative staff.

Supporting the practice in the registration and deduction of patients to the practice's patient list, including but not limited to summarising incoming paper records, as well as arranging the sending of paper records to the patient's new registered surgery

Assisting the practice in adding or amending any patient data received in an incompatible format from other GP surgeries, i.e, GP2GP degraded entries

  • GCSE Grade A to C in English and Maths or level 4 and above
