Job summary

We are recruiting a number of GP Receptionists to join our friendly and growing team located in Ealing.

The purpose of this role is to provide reception and administrative support for our GP Services, to ensure high standards of customer care and patient experience, to develop, manage and constantly improve an environment that meets the needs of the wider practice and its clinical services.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Confident telephone manner
  • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Excellent IT Skills
  • Extensive customer service experience
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • A can-do attitude and willingness to learn

General practice experience is preferred but all candidates meeting the essential criteria above will be considered.

Main duties of the job

The role is to:

  • Ensure that all telephone calls to the service are both managed and greeted professionally and politely.
  • Receive, assist and direct callers in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way
  • Deal with administrative queries and requests from callers
  • Make/cancel/rearrange appointments via the clinical system
  • Support and assist clinicians as required
  • Ensure up to date patient information is recorded
  • Deal with requests and completed medical reports.
  • Opening up/locking up of Practice premises and maintaining security according to a rota
  • Registering Patients and understanding the process
  • Clinical coding and document management within clinical system
  • Effective and efficient referral management
  • Recalls for QOF and Enhanced Services
  • Processing online requests from patients (eConsult)
  • Responding to emails
  • Adhoc administrative tasks

The Argyle Health Group is a multi award winning primary care provider based in West London. One of the largest single providers of primary care for nursing home patients. We have an outstanding CQC rating for older peoples services.

We run two GP practices serving over 21,000 patients, we provide enhanced primary care services for around 1000 patients in nursing homes and care homes. In addition, we provide prescription services and phlebotomy services across the London boroughs of Ealing and Hounslow.

We have a strong training and development ethos. In addition to being a teaching practice for GP registrars, we train pre-registered Pharmacists, we have an apprenticeship programme for Pharmacy Technicians, we train nurses and health care assistants.

We are based in the suburbs of London with excellent transport links including two cross rail stations, close proximity to Heathrow airport, multiple underground and mainline links to central London.
