York City PCN is delighted to
offer a great opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced
Physiotherapist who wishes to develop their career within an exceptional
primary care environment. The role is equivalent to band 7 or 8a based on experience working with patients who have a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions.
This is an exciting time to
develop an integrated MSK service within an organisation which has a track
record of successfully growing and developing new and unique roles in primary
care.
Our aim is to have a first
contact physiotherapy service for all MSK presentations. The role will
complement our current multi-disciplinary team as we seek to build upon the
high-quality service that we already deliver to our local population.
Main duties of the job
We seek a friendly, efficient
and determined candidate with experience in the diagnosis and management of a
wide range of MSK conditions.
Consulting with patients in
an empathetic, motivational way based on the latest available evidence will be
a vital part of the job.
The post holder will have
excellent interpersonal skills and be expected to provide leadership and
collaborate with all other clinicians working within the network. An ability to
embrace new ways of working including telephone and video consultations
alongside traditional face to face contacts is an essential requirement.

City of York Primary Care Network (PCN) is made up of 3 Practices covering 6 surgeries in the centre of York. The PCN population is approximately 53,000 patients.

Qualifications
Essential
- BSc/ Grad Dip in relevant therapy
- HCPC registered
- Evidence of CPD and post registration activity through portfolio
- Able to demonstrate continuing professional development within the field of musculoskeletal medicine.
- Obtained or working towards MSc/ MSc modules or equivalent level of knowledge
Desirable
- Membership of appropriate special interest groups
- Extended scope skills i.e. diploma/ MSc module in injection skills, non-medical independent prescribing etc.
- Competency to request x-rays
- Competency to request Blood tests and interpret / act on results.
Experience
Essential
- Extensive experience working as a Senior Physiotherapist/Extended Scope Practitioner in the field of MSK.
- Knowledge of clinical governance
- Health and safety risk awareness
- Understanding of professional ethics/ code of conduct and their application.
- Proven multidisciplinary working.
- Expert clinical reasoning skills.

- Demonstrable presentation skills
