Job summary
You will be working with our Clinical teams to support the delivery of the highest quality primary care service to our patients.
As a GP Receptionist you will be responsible for providing a high quality and effective first-line of patient contact, assist in the smooth running of the Practice, (the Reception area in particular), and to project a positive and friendly image to our patients and other professionals who may contact us either in person or via the telephone.

- To facilitate patients accessing the clinical care provided by the practice
- To support the GPs, Nurses and other Clinicians in providing that care
You will need to follow our systems, policies and procedures carefully and ensure that you maintain confidentiality at all times.
HOURS OF WORK:
- 5 hours per day (Monday Friday), flexibility to work either mornings, afternoons and evenings is a requirement
- All hours are subject to alteration during periods of cover for colleagues leave or sickness
Reception is covered between 7:45am and 7:00pm, Monday to Friday
Main duties of the job
MAIN RECEPTIONIST RESPONSIBILITIES

- Greet and book in patients
- Deal with patient enquiries efficiently/courteously, and act as liaison with Clinicians as necessary
- Book, cancel, amend patients appointments, home visits and telephone consultations following Practice procedures
- Process and log e-Consults (on-line consultation) accurately and in a timely manner
- Receive and make calls as required, take messages and deal with appropriate queries maintaining confidentiality at all times
- Carry out administration tasks relating to patient records, including filing, document management, photocopying
- Amend patient details on System One
- Process patient records and correspondence accurately and according to Practice protocols
- Maintain filing and admin systems so that documentation/forms are easily accessible and secure
- Follow Practice procedure regarding letters, reports, correspondence that arrive at the Surgery
- Cover Reception team members during sickness and annual leave
- Action start and end of day procedures
- Ensure Reception and waiting areas are kept neat and tidy during the day and after Surgery
- Open up/lock-up of Practice premises and maintain security in accordance with Practice protocols
- To undertake other duties deemed appropriate
Administration duties
- To have a thorough knowledge of all practice policies and procedures
- To work in accordance with written protocols
About us
We are a medium sized Practice within the South Central Ealing Primary Care Network with over 8000 patients. We use a multidisciplinary approach, bringing together GPs, Nurses, HCAs, Pharmacists, and our non-clinical team to deliver an efficient and effective service with best in class outcomes for patients. As part of a PCN we also have access to a Social Prescriber and Physiotherapist.
The Practice is very busy serving mainly the community of Northfields, West London.
