Job summary

Salaried GP Maternity Leave cover.

Our ethos at Greenbank Road Surgery is to provide the highest quality patient care and excellent support for all staff.

We are seeking a salaried GP to provide maternity cover on a fixed term contract for 5 sessions per week.

Greenbank Road Surgery is based in the south of Liverpool, it is within easy access to road/rail links and good local schools and colleges. We are a friendly and forward-thinking practice which serves 6,500 patients within the local area.

We have a good CQC rating and excellent QOF achievement and are a member of Childwall and Wavertree Primary Care Network.

We are an established GP training practice for GP vocational training and undergraduate students. We are committed to the professional development of our staff.

Interviews for this post will be week beginning Monday 12th January for successful applicants.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will have:

Knowledge and understanding of services relevant to primary care.

Knowledge of current and forthcoming national policy and its effects on clinical practice.

Knowledge of GP contacts, enhanced services and QOF.

About us

Our clinical team comprises of 3 GP partners, 3 salaried GPs,1 Retainer GP, 2 Practice Nurses, and an HCA. We are also supported by ARRS staff via the PCN.

Job responsibilities

Key responsibilities and Duties:

1. Surgery Consultations, triaging calls as appropriate, occasional home visiting and administration associated with patient care.

2. Work as a team member with all relevant providers of primary and community care services within the practice.

3. Ensure appropriate records are maintained at all times regarding patients care and that relevant team members are kept fully informed regarding patients seen on behalf of the practice.

4. Ensure that the practice achieves the highest possible QOF outcomes.

5. Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols.

6. Support the proactive care agenda by participating in care planning and multi-disciplinary meetings.

7. Attend team and healthcare meetings when required.

Other responsibilities in the practice.

1. Maintain confidentiality of the practice at all times.

2. Work in accordance with and comply with all practice policies and procedures/guidelines. E.g. health and safety, prescribing, GDPR, and assist in their development

3. Fulfil any monitoring requirements attached to the post as required.

4. Maintain and develop individual skills and knowledge, ensuring statutory, mandatory and Trust required training updates are completed in a timely manner. Committed to lifelong learning.

5.Attend training and events organised by the practice or external agencies where appropriate.

Actively participate in clinical governance within the practice.
