Job summary
A
key member of the operational management team, the Head of Service Delivery
reports to the Chief Operating Officer and provides hands-on management of a
designated service portfolio and associated budget.
This
includes management of HR operations, service management, service improvement, and
overall service delivery.The
post holder will manage teams to deliver high-quality services in line with
KPIs and regulatory standards, and contribute to a culture of accountability,
efficiency, and continuous improvement across BWPCA services.
Main duties of the job
- Lead
service delivery and improvement to optimise patient outcomes and operational
efficiency.
- Oversee
performance targets and delivery of the service portfolio in line with the business
plan.
- Maintain
compliance with BWPCA policies, procedures, regulatory and CQC standards.
- Prepare
reports for committees and the Board covering compliance, performance, and
risk.
- Foster
productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure
staffing levels are maintained and vacancies are filled promptly.
- Deputise
for the COO as required.
- Lead
on workforce management and HR operations, including staff recruitment,
training, appraisals, absence management, and policy compliance.
- Manages
service-level and business complaints and incidents, ensuring learning and
outcomes are disseminated to the relevant teams.
- Manages
the services in line with the BWPCA Business Plan, financial plans, and performance/cultural
targets.
- Maintains
compliance with all BWPCA governance including but not limited to policies,
procedures and regulatory standards.
- Ensure
strong financial management of all key service lines and budgets, ensuring
robust scrutiny of any overspends.

- Bachelors degree or Management equivalent

- UCC knowledge and has worked previously in Berkshire West
Experience

- The postholder will report to the COO but work closely with the Clinical Lead, Clinical Governance Lead and with the Clinical Service Leads.
- The post holder will lead and manage a defined service portfolio.
- The post holder will be expected to operate flexibility in response to changes in future commissioning intentions and outcomes and changes in the future strategic direction of the Alliance. This may mean the need to assume responsibility for a different operational service portfolio, as required, and as directed by the COO/Clinical Lead. In these circumstances, the post holder will be appropriately consulted, albeit changes may need to happen quickly, in order to be effective.
- Post holders at this level may also be required, to rotate on a temporary basis into other equivalent level roles to support their development, the development of other staff and in line with operational/service needs. The decision to rotate will be subject to a proper assessment of individual skills and competence and role demand.
