The Dispensary Manager role will give the successful candidate the opportunity to provide leadership and direction to our existing Dispensary Team. Joining and supporting them in our continued efforts to deliver a safe, efficient and patient-focused dispensing service
This will involve overall management and responsibility of the dispensary and an opportunity to develop and implement a dispensary work plan that contributes to achievement of the practices overall strategic objectives.

Main duties of the job
Dispensary daily operation:
Involvement in prescription preparation, ensuring team process all prescriptions within appropriate timescales.
Operate efficient stock control, including Ad-hoc and weekly ordering of generic stock & injectables, observing price concessions as necessary.
Checking monthly statements and receipt of ordered goods.
Responsibility for team rotas.
Undertake any other necessary work as may be required and appropriate to maintain a high standard and efficient dispensing service
Leadership and management
Develop effective working relationships within the practice including with the GP lead for dispensary and management team colleagues. Ensure the practice team are kept informed of key issues relating to dispensary.
Offer leadership, training and support to the dispensary team.
Quality & Safety
Comply with all legislative and regulatory requirements, ensuring safety alerts are appropriately cascaded, and actions implemented.
Maintain knowledge of best practice and make appropriate recommendations for implementation.
Record and monitor SEAs, ensuring that learning is cascaded and effectively embedded.
Assist with the maintenance of Dispensary Standard Operating Procedures and Policies.
Lead the dispensary team in completion of relevant audits and quality improvement activities including the Dispensing Services Quality Scheme (DSQS).

The role would be open to both dispensers and pharmacy technicians, and we are looking for someone with enthusiasm and passion to work within our dynamic dispensary. Experience in leadership and management would be desirable but not essential and, depending on the experience of a successful candidate, we hope this will allow an opportunity to look at new ways of managing the efficient and effective delivery of dispensary and medicine management services.
