Job summary
We are an established GP Surgery in West Swindon. The
position would especially suit an applicant with previous experience in a
primary care setting with an interest in maintaining excellent patient
relationships. The candidate must have excellent communication skills, and have the
ability to work in a pressured environment of a busy practice.
The role is for 38 hours per week, working over 5 days
(Monday - Friday) - weekends and bank holidays off.
The shift pattern will alternate every three weeks between
an early week and a later start week, for example:
Week 1:
Monday - Friday 8:00 - 4:00
Week 2:
Monday - Friday 8:00 - 4:00
Week 3:
Monday - Friday: 10:00 - 6:00
The occasional 7AM start/6:30PM finish will be required.
Main duties of the job
Duties will include, but are not limited:
- Working on the front desk reception, meeting and greeting patients, arriving them for their appointments, booking following ups etc
- Answering our busy incoming calls, booking appointments, handling general enquiries
- Processing new patient registrations
- Filing patient notes
- Making outgoing calls, booking follow up appointments
- Monitoring the practice email account
- Scanning documents into the patients record

arisen at our established and busy GP Practice for a Receptionist/Administrator
to join our team here at Ashington House Surgery.
Our clinical team is supported by experienced receptionists
and administrative staff, we look after over 10,000 registered patients.
The practice has 7 permanent GPs, who are supported by 3
Practice Nurses and 2 Healthcare Assistants.
We are based in Westlea, in West Swindon. Everyone working
in the practice is valued for the role they play in providing high-quality
services for our patients.

You should be comfortable dealing with patients and visitors from all walks of life, have good organisational skills, and be able to work efficiently under pressure. Basic IT skills are important as you will be using computer systems to manage appointments and records. Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work well within a team are essential. Its also important that you understand the need for confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Flexibility with working hours when needed is required.
Desirable
