Job summary
We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Healthcare Assistant to join our friendly team at Staveleigh Medical Centre, providing maternity cover for an initial period of six months. This is a part-time role for approximately 16 hours a week over two days, offering a fantastic opportunity to be part of a supportive and professional primary care environment.
Youll be working alongside experienced clinicians and administrative staff, supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care. Duties will include clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, blood pressure checks, ECGs, injections, and supporting chronic disease management, as well as assisting with general health promotion.

Main duties of the job
As a Healthcare Assistant at Staveleigh Medical Centre, you will play a key role in supporting the clinical team and enhancing patient care. Your work will be varied and hands-on, involving both clinical and administrative responsibilities to help ensure the smooth running of the practice.
Typical duties will include supporting patients with routine health checks such as blood pressure monitoring, ECGs, and phlebotomy; conducting NHS health checks; and supporting chronic disease management under the supervision of the nursing team. Youll also help with general health promotion, vaccinations, and maintaining accurate patient records.
Youll work closely with GPs, nurses, and the wider practice team, contributing to a caring and efficient service for our local community. The role offers meaningful patient interaction and the chance to develop your skills in a supportive environment.

The postholder will assist in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care and undertake clinical tasks as directed by the nursing and clinical team.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Duties

Undertake clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, blood pressure monitoring, ECGs, urinalysis, and long-term condition monitoring and checks (including diabetes and hypertension).
