Job summary

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Salaried GP to join our dynamic and friendly practice team. We are motivated to deliver high-quality care services and are looking for someone who shares this commitment. This role is ideal for an experienced GP, a newly qualified GP, or a Tier 2 candidate.

The successful applicant will be enthusiastic about providing high-quality primary care and keen to use their clinical skills within a supportive and welcoming environment.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be highly motivated, a strong team player, committed to clinical excellence, and proactive in their approach. You must be eligible to work in the UK and willing to undergo a DBS check. In return, the practice offers an excellent remuneration package, including indemnity cover and access to the NHS Pension Scheme.

This is a part-time position comprising 6 sessions per week over 3 days.

About us

The Royton and Crompton Family Practice Ltd is a training practice with a Tier 2 licence and a patient population of over 21,000. We are based in modern premises with excellent transport links to Manchester and the surrounding motorway networks.

The practice has 4 GP Partners and a highly experienced multidisciplinary team, including Salaried GPs, ANPs, Practice Nurses, Clinical Pharmacists, a Physician Associate, HCAs, a Pharmacy Technician, and a skilled administrative team. We use the EMIS Web clinical system. The practice is a high achiever and has previously been rated Good by the CQC.

Job responsibilities

The post holder will provided general medical services managing a case load and dealing with a wide range of health needs in a Primary Care Setting, ensuring the highest standard of care for all.

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make him/her self available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations (for registered and temporary patients) and emergencies, telephone consultations and queries, triaging, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, patient test results, patient medical reports and examinations (e.g. Insurance Companies) on behalf of the practice, referral letters NHS/private;
  • Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation;
  • Recording clear and contemporaneous I.T. based consultation notes to agreed standards;
  • Collecting data for audit purposes;
  • compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions;
  • Prescribing in accordance with locally agreed or national guidelines;
  • In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care;
