To provide day to day medical secretarial support to the Practice under the direction of the Management Team, Partners, GP's and Health Professionals whilst being proficient in word processing and audio typing skills.

Main duties of the job

To provide secretarial support

Experience of working in a GP Practice preferred but not essential

To assist the Practice with all clerical and administrative duties.

To provide an efficient secretarial service for GPs and

To assist clinical staff by obtaining information about the progress of referrals when requested

Job description

Job responsibilities

To assist the Practice with all medical secretarial duties

To make appointments, bookings and admissions as required.

To establish and maintain filing and administrative systems so that written or computer information is easily accessible and secure.

To provide an efficient secretarial service for GPs and associated health professionals as required in line with current policies, procedures and systems.

To assist clinical staff by obtaining information about the progress of referrals when requested.

To receive incoming and initiate outgoing telephone calls in order to facilitate timely and appropriate communications with others, taking messages and dealing with appropriate queries.

To maintain the computer clinic system in an accurate and secure manner.

To provide cover for members of the admin team during periods of sickness and annual leave.

To receive and dispatch mail and maintain a pending system in line with the protocols of the Practice.

To participate in the induction and training of new team members to ensure they meet their objectives.

To ensure all individually attended training sessions are cascaded to all members of the Practice team.

To undertake any other duties commensurate with the scope of the role and within your skill set as requested.
