Chapeltown
Records dating
back to 1715 describe Chapeltown as
being well situated in pure air upon a
pleasant ascent. We are still well
situated near to the city centre but also
the parks in Roundhay and the artisan
shops of Chapelallerton. We boast the UKs
oldest carnival second only to
Notting Hill in size. Nearby there are restaurants from
everywhere from Korea to Ethiopia to
Jamaica. Its greatest asset however are
its people. We have welcomed families
from across the globe, a settled
Afrocarribean and South Asian community
live together with families from
Eastern Europe and Africa. This mix
of food, music and culture makes
working here endlessly stimulating,
fascinating and challenging.
