Job summary

We are keen to recruit a salaried GP to work along side the other doctors at the surgeries. We are a well established and respected local surgery in North London.

The usual general practice duties would be carried out; consulting with patients and advising and referring as required. The requirement would be a whole day at one site and half a day at the other ( 3 clinical sessions)

Main duties of the job

The Medical & Sobell Centres (Islington-London) seek a keen and enthusiastic GP to join our innovative centres -for three clinical sessions per week.

We are committed to delivering a high-quality service to our patients with a focus on continuity of care through personal patient lists.

The Centres have a friendly and loyal compliment of staff with experienced and supportive managerial and administrative teams. The Practice is a high achieving QOF Practice working on Emis-web. Consultations, both face to face and via e- consults would be a daily activity. Signposting and refering patinets accordingly.

About us

The practices offer a competitive package for the right candidate to join our hard-working team. We have 3 GP partners - one at one site, and two at the other. The post will be across two sites- sessions will be mainly at the Sobell Medical Centre. Both sites are within 5 minutes walk. The surgeries have a full team of adminisctrtors, receptionisds and PCN support staff.

The Salary is dependent on experience.

Informal visits are encouraged.

Job description

Job responsibilities

The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.

Clinical responsibilities:

In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make him/her-self available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion

Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation

Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems

Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness

In consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health

Providing counselling and health education

Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate

Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards

Collecting data for audit purposes

Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate

In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
