We have invested in developing innovative and digital ways of working to support our clinicians and effectively manage patient demand.Clinicians are welcome to develop their specialist areas of interest and we are always interested in taking on GP's who wish to develop new and more fulfilling ways of working, especially with a digital focus.

We are closely involved with our PCN's and take an active role in their growth and development. The exciting work we are able to do at a PCN level enables us to work at a community level to improve population health across our PCN's as well as improve the range of services our patients are able to access.

Job responsibilities

First 4 Health Group is seeking an enthusiastic, patient-centred and forward-thinking Salaried GP to join our growing organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to work across a supportive and innovative group of practices serving a diverse patient population in Newham.

The post holder will work across Stratford Village Surgery (SVS), Church Road Health (CRH), E7 Health (E7H) and Glen Road Medical Centre (GRMC). Cross-site working is an important part of the role and provides clinicians with wider peer support, flexible working opportunities and the chance to share best practice across the group.

First 4 Health Group is committed to delivering excellent General Practice services through collaboration, innovation and digital transformation. Our group model provides centralised management support, shared clinical resources and cross-cover arrangements, enabling clinicians to focus on patient care while reducing administrative burden.

As a Salaried GP, you will provide high-quality, safe and effective care to our registered patient population. You will undertake a full range of General Practice duties including face-to-face consultations, telephone triage, online consultations, reviewing pathology results, repeat prescriptions, referral management, safeguarding, chronic disease management and preventative healthcare.

You will work closely with experienced GPs, nurses, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, physician associates, paramedics, advanced nurse practitioners, healthcare assistants, social prescribers, care coordinators, health and wellbeing coaches and administrative colleagues.

The successful candidate will deliver patient-centred consultations that reflect the needs of a diverse and often complex patient population. You will support patients in managing acute and chronic conditions, promoting self-care, improving health outcomes and reducing health inequalities.

You will contribute to the development of safe and effective clinical pathways across the organisation, support clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives, and help ensure compliance with Care Quality Commission standards and contractual requirements.

This role provides excellent opportunities to develop specialist interests, leadership responsibilities and portfolio career opportunities. We welcome applicants with interests in diabetes, respiratory medicine, womens health, urgent care, frailty, child health, mental health, teaching, training, digital transformation, quality improvement and clinical leadership.

The role will involve supporting the achievement of practice and Primary Care Network targets, including QOF, enhanced services, vaccination programmes, chronic disease management indicators and locally commissioned services.

The post holder will contribute to practice meetings, multidisciplinary meetings, clinical governance activities, significant event reviews, audits, patient safety work and educational programmes. There will also be opportunities to support GP trainees, medical students and other learners within the organisation.

First 4 Health Group has invested significantly in digital systems and innovative ways of working. Clinicians are supported to use EMIS Web, electronic prescribing, digital consultation tools, workflow systems, document management systems and population health management tools to improve patient access and service delivery.

The successful applicant will be expected to use EMIS Web effectively, maintain accurate and timely patient records, use appropriate coding and templates, action pathology results and incoming clinical correspondence promptly, and support the effective use of digital tools across the organisation.

You will also work collaboratively with local Primary Care Networks, community services, social care, mental health teams, voluntary sector organisations and secondary care providers to ensure joined-up and seamless care for patients.

The role requires a strong commitment to teamwork, flexibility and collaboration. You may be required to work at different First 4 Health Group sites depending on service needs, rotas and cross-cover arrangements. This includes supporting services at Stratford Village Surgery (SVS), Church Road Health (CRH), E7 Health (E7H) and Glen Road Medical Centre (GRMC).

Key responsibilities include providing high-quality consultations for patients with acute and long-term conditions, delivering safe and evidence-based care, undertaking face-to-face, telephone and digital consultations, managing pathology results, prescriptions, referrals and clinical correspondence, supporting chronic disease management and preventative healthcare, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues, contributing to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives, supporting safeguarding processes for children and vulnerable adults, maintaining high-quality clinical records using EMIS Web, participating in meetings and training, supporting the achievement of QOF, PCN and contractual targets, contributing to innovative and digital models of care and supporting patients across all First 4 Health Group sites including SVS, CRH, E7H and GRMC.

We can offer a supportive and collaborative working environment, opportunities to work across multiple practice sites, strong peer support from experienced GP colleagues and senior leaders, centralised administrative and management support, opportunities for leadership development and portfolio careers, opportunities to develop specialist interests, flexible working opportunities where possible, access to training, mentoring and career progression, involvement in innovative digital and transformation projects, active participation in Primary Care Networks and integrated care working and the opportunity to work with a diverse and rewarding patient population.

This is an ideal opportunity for a GP who enjoys variety, wants to work within a supportive team environment and is committed to improving patient outcomes through high-quality, compassionate and innovative care.

The successful candidate must hold full GMC registration with a licence to practise, be included on the NHS England Performers List and have experience of working within UK General Practice.

Applicants should demonstrate excellent communication skills, sound clinical judgement, strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively within a busy multidisciplinary environment.

At First 4 Health Group, we are proud of our commitment to staff wellbeing, professional development and high standards of patient care. We are looking for clinicians who share our values and want to help shape the future of primary care across Stratford Village Surgery (SVS), Church Road Health (CRH), E7 Health (E7H) and Glen Road Medical Centre (GRMC).

The role also includes responsibility for supporting safe prescribing, reviewing medication requests, ensuring accurate coding of long-term conditions, participating in recall systems and supporting population health initiatives across the group. The post holder will be expected to engage with practice and PCN priorities, participate in service redesign projects and help identify opportunities to improve patient access, efficiency and quality of care. You will be expected to work flexibly across clinical sessions and provide support for same-day demand, routine appointments, enhanced access sessions and on-call arrangements where required. You will contribute to safeguarding discussions, multidisciplinary team meetings, care planning for vulnerable patients and end of life care discussions. You will also support the development of junior staff, provide informal supervision where appropriate and contribute to maintaining a positive, inclusive and respectful working culture across the organisation. The successful candidate will be committed to continuous professional development, reflective practice and maintaining the highest possible standards of patient safety, communication and professionalism at all times.

First 4 Health Group values innovation, teamwork and flexibility. We actively encourage staff to contribute ideas, participate in new projects and take on leadership opportunities. We are committed to creating an environment where clinicians feel supported, listened to and able to develop fulfilling careers. Our practices work closely together to share learning, improve resilience and ensure patients receive a consistently high standard of care across all sites. We aim to create a culture where staff wellbeing is prioritised and where clinicians can build long-term careers within the organisation. This role would suit a GP who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, values collaborative working and wants to make a meaningful contribution to the future of General Practice within Newham and the wider community.

The post holder will be expected to attend mandatory training, complete statutory updates and remain fully compliant with organisational policies relating to information governance, confidentiality, infection control, safeguarding, equality and diversity, health and safety and complaints management. You will be expected to maintain a professional approach at all times, communicate effectively with colleagues and patients and contribute positively to the reputation and development of First 4 Health Group.

The successful candidate will also be encouraged to take part in audits, research projects, patient engagement work and service improvement programmes where appropriate. We welcome applications from GPs at different stages of their career and can offer support, mentoring and development opportunities tailored to individual experience and interests.
