Job summary
We are seeking a compassionate and proactive registered Nurse to be our Clinical Team Lead, and to support the delivery of high-quality patient care within our busy GP surgery.
The successful candidate will be working across our 3 sites to lead our varied Nursing Team. Primary care experience is desired but not essential.
GP Surgery experince would be preferred.
Main duties of the job
This will be a varied role of nursing clinics and management of the Nursing team as a whole.
Excellent patient service and patient relationship skills, excellent communication skills, a confident manner and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential attributes of any applicants.
Applicants should possess the appropriate qualifications and should have computing/keyboard skills .

Working in accordance with the UKCC Code of Conduct, the post-holder will lead and develop the Practice nursing team in the provision of assessment, treatment, screening, health education services and advice to patients.
The post-holder will develop (and ensure that the nursing team work with reference to) Practice agreed protocols and guidelines to provide nursing treatments to patients both independently and in participation with nurse colleagues and general practitioners.
The post-holder will have the required level of training and competence and will work within patient group directions where these are available. A nurse with prescribing qualifications will use them appropriately.
Management Responsibilities:
- Enable the nursing team to work effectively to provide a high quality service to patients, to work effectively with other agencies and enable the Practice nursing team to apply and improve clinical governance. Supervise staff performance.
- Contribute to the implementation of policies and guidelines across the Practice nursing team.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Identify, assess and diagnose patients with complex health needs across the Practice population
- Work with others to change policies to improve health and well-being and reduce inequalities
- Lead the implementation and evaluation of evidence-based practice to improve the services offered by the Practice nursing team
- Management of Chronic Diseases, wound care, health screening, travel health, health screening, immunisations (Adult and Child), Cytology
- Stock maintenance and ordering
- Attend and participate in any Practice meetings when required
- Any other delegated duties appropriate to the post
