Salaried GP

Information:

This job is now closed

Job summary

We are looking to appoint a Salaried GP for 4 sessions weekly. We are a training practice in Cannock (South Staffordshire). We support flexible working, alongside our team. We are involved in medical education at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The post would encourage any candidate with an interest in medical education to work alongside our experienced GPs including our GP trainers however this is not essential, our priority is to develop you as an individual.

Our GP sessions involve 13 contacts am and pm with an additional 3 appointments per session held for urgent triage at GP discretion. These are a mixture of telephone/face to face and patient choice. Some are pre-bookable and some are same day bookings only. We have an on-call rota however this is capped and very manageable.

We have a Pharmacist attached to the Practice through our PCN who helps with acute prescriptions and tasks 2 days a week.

We have previously supported fellowship applications for our GP's and we would encourage this in various areas of interest.

We also use Ardens software for templates and help streamlining GP administration duties and referrals.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion

Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems

Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems

Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate

Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards

Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate

In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.

About us

We have an established team of 2 GP partners, 1 part-time salaried GP,1 Nurse Practitioner and 2 Practice Nurses. We value the low turnover of clinical staff.

We are a mixed team of experienced, long-standing staff and newly qualified members and we believe in supporting and developing all our staff to achieve what they want out of their career.

Please take the time to come and meet us and see for yourself.

Feel free to contact our Practice Manager Gill Harper-Potts gill.harper-potts@nhs.net for an informal chat or to arrange a time to speak to our GP partners about the practice and to get a feel for the friendly supportive team culture we thrive on.
