Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Deputy Practice Manager
to join our busy GP practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive

About the Role
The successful candidate will support the Practice Manager in the day-to-day
running and development of the practice, helping to ensure the delivery of
high-quality patient services and effective operational support for our
clinical and administrative teams.
Key Requirements
Minimum 2 years experience in
a similar administrative, supervisory, or practice-based role
Strong IT skills, including
confident use of clinical systems, Microsoft Office, and digital tools
Basic knowledge of HR processes,
including staff support, rotas, onboarding, and record keeping
Excellent communication, organisation, and
problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a
team in a fast-paced environment
Key Responsibilities

practice
Assisting with staff coordination, rotas, and HR

Salary: £32000 - £38000

Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities:
Staff & Operations Management
- Oversee the daily management of reception and administrative staff, ensuring efficient workflow.
- Manage staff rotas, including annual leave requests, and coordinate extended access Saturday rotas.
- Lead the induction process for new staff, including medical students and GP registrars.
- Support the Practice Manager with appraisals, probation reviews, and staff training.
- Organise and lead regular staff meetings to ensure effective communication.
Clinical & Patient Support
- Handle complex patient queries and support the Practice Manager in managing complaints.
- Assist with clinical diary management, ensuring smooth scheduling for the team.
IT & Administrative Oversight
- Oversee IT projects, including managing the Data Security & Protection Toolkit across both practices.
- Ensure the practice website is regularly updated with relevant information.
- Minute meetings as required and provide administrative support to leadership.
General Support & Practice Development
- Support the Practice Manager and St Philips Medical Centre Partner in operational and strategic initiatives.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with NHS regulations and practice policies.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the practice.
