Job summary
We are looking to recruit a Salaried GP to join our friendly practice team. We are a two site Oxfordshire practice located in the small market town of Watlington and the village of Chalgrove, with a patient list size of approximately 8,000.
We are located in a beautiful area with excellent road links and we can offer support to newly qualified GPs if required.

About us
We are a two site practice located in the small market town of Watlington and the village of Chalgrove in Oxfordshire, with a patient list size of approximately 8,000. We have a strong multidisciplinary team with GPs, nurses, healthcare assistants, a paramedic, a locum clinical pharmacist and supportive reception/admin and secretary teams.
We are part of the Thame Primary Care Network. We work closely with a number of health partners including a community palliative care team in Oxford and a district nursing team. We are a high QOF achiever and rated Good by CQC. We use EMIS Web, Docman, AccuRx and Lexacom.
Watlington is an attractive market town, approximately 16 miles south of Oxford. The patient demographic is urban, semi-rural and rural.

prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
Effective
management of long-term conditions
Processing
of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription
requests and other associated administrative tasks
On
a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles
Maintain
accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and
guidance
Work
collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload
Adhere
to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process
Contribute
to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality
initiatives within the practice
Accept
delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) or the QOF
Attend
and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required
Contribute
effectively to the development and maintenance of the practice including
clinical governance and training
Ensure
compliance with the appraisal process
Prepare
and complete the revalidation process
Commit
to self-learning and instill an ethos of continuing professional development
across the practice team
Review
and always adhere to practice protocols and policies
Encourage
collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, always promoting a

- Holder of MRCGP or equivalent
- Performers List license to practice
- Evidence of revalidation (if due) and engagement in the appraisal process
Desirable
- Qualification or desire to work towards a teaching/training qualification
- Specialist interest / qualifications e.g. coil fitting, long-term condition management, minor surgery, research
Experience
Essential
- Commitment to high quality evidence based clinical care underpinned by sound clinical knowledge and awareness to fully and appropriately investigate problems.
- A friendly and appropriate manner with good people skills, showing understanding, care and assertiveness where appropriate.
- Commitment to reflective practice and the continuous improvement of own performance.
- Enthusiasm and commitment to teaching and training.
Desirable
- Evidence of broader skills and experience applicable to the development of services beyond core primary care work streams.
