Island City Practice is seeking two dedicated Medical Receptionists to join our team in permanent roles. We are looking for individuals who are committed to providing excellent service to our patients and supporting our clinical team.

- Wednesday: Non-working day
- Thursday: 08:00 - 18:00

Main duties of the job
Join our team as a Medical Receptionist, where you will play a crucial role in helping us meet our aims and objectives within an efficient, safe, and effective working environment. Your efforts will ensure that our services meet the needs of our registered patients and comply with all regulatory requirements.
We are seeking confident and professional individuals with excellent telephone skills and a strong commitment to customer service. The ability to multi-task effectively in a busy environment is essential. Full training will be provided for these roles; however, having experience in Medical Administration and as a receptionist in a GP Practice would be advantageous. Familiarity with SystmOne is also desirable, as it will aid in the smooth operation of our practice.

- Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate services in a courteous, efficient and effective way
- Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the Practice
- Ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and any other visitors to the Practice
- Issuing patient on-line access passwords
- Deal with all general enquiries, explain Practice procedures to patients
- Receive and make telephone calls as required. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracy of detail and prompt appropriate delivery.
- Make appointments and telephone consultations ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professionals
- Enter requests for home visits onto SystmOne, ensuring careful recording of all relevant details
- Communicate test results appropriately being aware of confidentiality at all times
- Advise patients of relevant charges for private (non NHS) services, accept payment and issue receipts for same.
- Undertake chaperone duties during clinical examinations as required
- Enter patient information on to the computer as required.
- Ensure the kitchen is kept clean and tidy and the dishes are cleaned and put away as required.
- Keep the reception area, notice-boards and leaflet dispensers tidy and free from obstructions and clutter
- Providing clerical assistance to Practice staff as required, including scanning, coding, filing and photocopying
- Ensure Practice is closed down safely at night to include closing of window and shutters
- Undertake any other additional duties appropriate to the post as requested by the Partners or Management Team.
