Due to the retirement of one of our long serving Partners, The Green House Surgery is looking to recruit a GP. Our existing clinical team is dynamic, with a diverse skill set (including four GP Partners, Salaried GP, Paramedic Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners, First Contact Physio, Child & Adult Mental Health Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Pharmacy Technician, Healthcare Assistants and Phlebotomists).
We are a Teaching
Practice based in new purpose-built premises within Redcar Primary Care
Hospital and have access to Physiotherapy, Radiology, Endoscopy, Audiology,
Minor injuries, MRI, CT and X-Ray facilities on-site. Our modern building
offers excellent facilities, ample free parking and easy access to public
transport.

Main duties of the job
In
general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties
and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care. The
post-holder, as part of the practice team, will manage a caseload and deal with
a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest
standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.
In
accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make
him/her-self available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery
consultations, telephone, video, and e-consultations, visiting patients at
home, authorising repeat prescription and dealing with queries, paperwork, and
correspondence in a timely fashion.
The
post-holder will be supported in continuous professional development through
attendance at necessary/appropriate courses and/or study days in addition to
training programmes implemented by the practice.

About us
The Green House Surgery currently has a registered patient list of approximately 10,000 patients residing in Redcar and surrounding areas.
We work from modern, purpose-built premises and benefit from ease of with access to hospital-based diagnostics and other services. We have excellent public transport links (Redcar train stations are within walking distance) and also have free on-site parking for both patients and staff.
Our existing

As a member of Redcar Costal
PCN, we benefit from having access to various ARRS practitioners and have good
working relationships with other member practices.
Our excellent Practice Administrators and Management team provide
nonclinical support and help reduce the administration burden on
clinicians.
The successful candidate
will work as part of a loyal & committed clinical team and receive
excellent support from our Partners and colleagues. We will provide you with a
named GP Partner mentor who will provide support with more complex cases and processes as required.

The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.

- In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone/video and e-consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
- Surgery sessions will consist of circa 14 patients, (a session is a half day).
- Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.
- Assessing the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
- Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
- In consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health.
- Providing counselling and health education
- Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate
- Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
- Collecting data for audit purposes
- Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.
- To take a lead role on behalf of the practice in particular areas of clinical function e.g. prescribing.
- To participate in the on call rota. This is a daytime rota for dealing with emergency patients and clinical queries.
- Supervise, advise and mentor Nurse Practitioners, Paramedic Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, Phlebotomists, GP Registrars and medical students.
