Job summary
We are looking for a friendly, organised and professional Receptionist/Patient Services Advisor to join our friendly, dedicated team.
This is a frontline role, critical to the smooth operation of the practice, providing high-quality care and support to our patients.
The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients and will play a key part in ensuring a welcoming, efficient, and confidential service.
The hours for this role are 32.5 per week as follows:
Mon 1.00pm-6.30pm
Wed 1.00pm-8.00pm
Thu 7.45am-6.30pm
Fri 7.45am-6.30pm
Main duties of the job
Receiving, assisting and directing patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
Providing general assistance to the practice team and projecting a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.

We are a suburban two branch practice, with approx 17,500k patients. We have a large team comprised of doctors, pharmacists, ANPs, paramedic, nurses, physio, HCAs, admin and reception.
We are a teaching practice that trains pharmacists, medical students and GP registrars and are proud to offer excellent healthcare to the residents of Purley and Coulsdon.

- Welcoming patients and visitors in a courteous and efficient manner
- Booking, amending and cancelling appointments using the clinical system accurately
- Managing patient check-in process and monitoring waiting area to ensure smooth patient flow
- Handling patient queries in person, by telephone, or email, maintaining a helpful and respectful approach at all times
- Assisting with patient registration, deductions, and change of details
- Handling patient concerns or complaints professionally and escalating where necessary.
Administrative Duties:
- Extracting all information from clinical letters that needs coding and adding to notes.
- Arranging appointments, referrals, tests, patient requests and follow up appointments of patients from different sources including Docman tasks and EMIS tasks.
- Scanning and filing clinical correspondence and documents to patient records
- Providing administrative support to clinicians and management
