An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the friendly and supportive team based at Woodcote Medical. The post holder will work primarily with the Prescriptions Team and also provide administrative support to the wider team as required.
Main duties of the job
The Prescription Clerk provides support to our Clinicians in the receipt and preparation of repeat prescriptions for our patients. You will be the main point of contact for enquiries about prescriptions from patients, community pharmacies, and hospitals. A good telephone manner and excellent communication skills are essential, as is experience of issuing repeat prescriptions.

To process all repeat items of medication sent in by patient using the various protocols in place. This includes email requests, online requests, paper requests
To ensure that all requests are processed within a 48-hour time frame
To liaise with patients, pharmacies, nursing/residential homes, hospitals and other outside agencies regarding queries and requests
To ensure repeat medication is issued in line with Practice protocols, and when queries are raised that they are dealt with in the best way and given to the appropriate personal
To actively encourage patients to reconcile medications to facilitate monthly collections
To input data into the patients healthcare records as necessary
To ensure that any queries on medication are highlighted to the Clinical Pharmacist or the relevant GP
To identify patients requiring a medication review and sent invites to book appointment online
To undertake any other duties which are commensurate with the level and responsibilities of this post-holder
To actively and continuously review all activities and suggest areas for improvement.
