Job summary
The first contact physiotherapist role supports the delivery of MSK assessment and signposting within primary care. The postholder will work at the Manor View Practice which has 4 sites in Bushey, Watford, South Oxhey and Borehamwood. This role will be based at Borehamwood but the clinician may be asked to cover a clinic at one of our other sites.

1.To work as an autonomous, extended scope practitioner, with an extended scope of practice to work within a team. To deliver a high standard of specialist assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal patients in primary care GP practice.
2.To be an expert clinician and work as an independent practitioner working within GP practice alongside wider clinical team and practice staff. This will involve seeing patients on a first contact basis, without prior contact with their GP, in order to establish a rapid and accurate diagnosis and management plan.
3.To act as a source of expertise on the management of patients with MSK conditions and provide an advisory service to professional colleagues and support the GPs in the education and supervision of clinical staff.
4.To aid in the collection of data for the purpose of regular research, audit, evaluation and implementation of evidence based practice within the field of MSK in Primary Care.
5. Use extended scope clinical skills such as joint or soft tissue injections and make radiology referrals. Training will be given if required.
