Job summary

You will be working alongside our current team of Allied Health Care Professionals, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Paramedics and an FCP (Physiotherapist)

You will be provided with weekly debriefs and support from our GP Partners.

Salary: From £28 per hour, negotiable depending on qualifications and experience. Days and hours of work are flexible - we will consider full time, condensed hours and part time positions, including 9.30am-2.30pm.

Shortlisting will take place w.c. 15 September 2025.

Interviews will be held on Thursday 25th September 2025 between 14:00-16:00.

Main duties of the job

The ANP will act autonomously within their professional scope of practice providing care for patients face to face, telephone triage and home visits.

The post holder will use skills, knowledge and competencies as a qualified Advanced Health Care Professional in order to be responsible and accountable for managing patient caseloads for treatments, referral, admission and discharging patients as appropriate.

Manor View Practice PCN is a well-established Hertfordshire GP surgery located across 4 sites in Bushey, Watford, South Oxhey and Borehamwood, with a list size of 47,000+ patients.

Our team comprises of 6 GP Partners, 38 GPs, 10 Pharmacists, 5 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, 1 Paramedic, 1 FCP, 6 Practice Nurses, 4 Healthcare Assistants and 3 Phlebotomists. There are also business support functions including Finance and HR. The surgery received a rating of "Good" following its most recent CQC inspection.

Main duties of the job

  • Work as part of our multi-disciplinary team alongside our GPs, Paramedics & ANP's to deliver safe and high-quality care.
  • Carry out clinical practice at an advanced level using expert clinical skills, critical judgements & knowledge to deliver appropriate and safe care.
  • Delivery of care in line with NSF, NICE guidelines and evidence-based care
  • Triage and treat patients, performing specialist assessment of their needs and make referrals as necessary to other members of the primary and secondary health care teams as appropriate.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions, including drug and non-drug based treatment methods into a management plan.
  • Request diagnostic investigations and interpret within agreed protocols e.g. x-ray, blood tests, scans, etc.
  • Assess, diagnose and treat patients in practice premises or their own home who require medical attention and/or refer to appropriate agency.
  • Prescribing and reviewing medication that is appropriate to patient needs and in accordance with latest evidence-based practice, national and practice protocols and within the scope of qualified practice.
  • Refer patients to other members of the multi-disciplinary practice teams, secondary care organisations and other organisations as necessary.

Administrative:

  • Produce accurate, contemporaneous and complete records of patient consultation, consistent with legislation, policies and procedures
  • Participate in the administrative and professional responsibilities of the practice team
  • Ensure clinical systems kept up to date, recording and/or amending accurate details
  • Ensure appropriate items of service claims are made accurately, reporting any problems to the practice administrator
  • Ensure accurate completion of all necessary documentation associated with patient health care and registration with the practice
  • Attend and participate in practice meetings as required
  • Restocking and maintenance of clinical areas and consulting rooms

General:

  • Maintain your own annual registration with the NMC and adhere to its Code of Professional Conduct.
  • Maintain any other required registrations and certifications necessary to fulfil your role.
  • Promote a professional approach at all times to patients and staff, both in and out of the Practice.
  • Maintain you own continuous CPD and ensure a PDP is kept up to date in line with the practice and nursing team development plans.
  • Participate in and attend practice meetings and in-house training.

You may be required to perform other duties from time to time to meet the needs of patients and the practice.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered Nurse with Nursing and Midwifery Council
  • Masters degree required for qualification post December 2020 refer to RCN Credentialing for Advanced Level of Nursing Practice.
  • Post graduate diploma or degree for Advanced Practice Qualification up to December 2020
  • Qualified Independent Nurse Prescriber on the NMC register
  • Meets NMC revalidation requirements in accordance with the NMC Revalidation booklet
  • Meets the standards for registered ANP working at advanced level
  • Minor illness qualification
  • Full driving licence and own car for home visits

Desirable
