Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic person to join our clinical team as a Healthcare Assistant.
We need someone to complement our friendly and dynamic team, who wants to progress their career further and who has a natural desire to be part of a busy health care team.
The role is very hands on and requires a high degree of accuracy, confidentiality, and ability to perform all the task require, which includes bending, lifting and moving. Please see the job role for details on what the role of HealthCare Assistant within a GP Surgery is expected to do.
Hours of work required are 16 hours- 24 hours over 3 days per week (Monday, Wednesday & Friday) and, additionally, the availability to cover additional shifts due to holiday & sickness.
The role would be based over our 2 sites to suit business need.

Main duties of the job
- Weight, height& BP checks
- Testing and handling of clinical specimens e.g. urine dipstick
- NHS Health checks
- Health promotion
- Dressings & treatment room procedures
- New patient checks
- Diabetic foot checks
- ECG's
- QOF reviews
- Ear syringing
- Flu, pneumonia, B12, Shingles, injections
- Ensure adequate infection control procedures in treatment and consulting rooms
- Phlebotomy
- Vaccine / cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
- Suture removal
- Administration of COVID vaccines

We are a very friendly and forward thinking Practice within the North Kirklees area with a list size of approximately 12500 patients.
Our multi-disciplinary team includes 3 GPs, 4 ANPs, Clinical Pharmacists, Practice Nurses, HCAs all supported by a strong administration and reception team. Our aim is to deliver good quality healthcare to our patients.
