This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding and forward-thinkingorganisationproviding pharmacy services across multiple GP practice sites.The pharmacy technician will work flexibly across locations as part of a multidisciplinary team to support safe, effective, and efficient medicinesoptimisation. They will play a vital role in improving patient safety, supporting prescribing quality, and ensuring robust medicines governance systems are in place across all sites.The post holder will undertake or have completed the CPPE Primary Care Pharmacy Education Pathway (PCPEP), which provides the knowledge and skills to deliver high-quality, patient-centeredcare in general practice.Therole includes supervision of trainee pharmacy technician(s) & prescription clerks, leadingqualityand safety audits, coordinating cross-site medicines governance activities, coordinating cross-site approaches to local medicinesoptimisationschemes, document management, supporting the clinical pharmacists and wider GP team to improve the quality medicines management across theorganisation.

Clinical and Medicines Optimisation
Support safe and efficient repeat prescribing processes across all practice sites and process prescription requests from different sources Keep track of review dates for prescribing policies and support updates with the senior pharmacist team Carry out medicines reconciliation following hospital discharges outpatient correspondence and new patient registrations Identify prescribing discrepancies and liaise with pharmacists or GPs to resolve them Promote medicines synchronisation NHS app usage and improved patient adherence Support MHRA alerts formulary updates and the implementation of local and national prescribing initiatives Maintain MHRA alert and high risk drug monitoring records across the organisation and support safe prescribing and monitoring of high risk medicines
Medicines Governance and Storage
Carry out regular spot checks across sites for medicines storage and safety compliance including monitoring fridge temperatures and supporting stock rotation Complete expiry date checks and maintain stock organisation Inspect emergency drug bags and resuscitation equipment and support audits of controlled drugs and secure storage procedures Maintain accurate audit trails and follow up actions Review and update SOPs for medicines handling storage and cold chain management
Education Training and Supervision
Undertake the CPPE Primary Care Pharmacy Education Pathway within agreed timescales Supervise mentor and assess trainee pharmacy technicians Provide training and guidance to administrative and clinical colleagues involved in prescribing processes Promote shared learning reflection and continuous improvement and present audit findings and policy updates to wider clinical teams
Quality Improvement and Audit
Lead or contribute to audits and quality improvement projects across the organisation Analyse prescribing data and share learning with the wider team Participate in significant event reviews to improve safety and efficiency
Patient Facing Activities
