Job summary
We are looking for a full time Health Care Assistant /
Nurse Associate [Trainee] who will work alongside the clinicians in the
provision of patient care. Enhanced Access hours are also required.
We would ideally like the candidate to work towards,
or already be a Nurse Associate.
The candidate will maintain set standards of
organisation in the practice and work effectively in a team, interact with
patients and colleagues in a professional manner
The candidate will be able to work to a flexible
working pattern if and when needed due to training and staffing needs of the
practice as and when appropriate
Main duties of the job
Purpose: To assist the GPs and practice nurse team in the
service and delivery of the care management of the practice population
Responsible to: GP Partners, Senior practice nurse and practice manager.

practice nurse team leader and undertakes task and duties delegated by the
practice nurse team leader or a suitably qualified regulated professional. They
will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of
patients, following policy and procedures while providing supervision to more
junior staff.

practice located in Boldon, serving a patient population of approximately 6000
patients. Our clinical team includes GP Partners, Salaried GP's, an Advanced
Clinical Practitioners and two Practice Nurses, all of whom are supported by an
excellent Administration, Reception and Management team. We are a training
practice and work with Medical Students, Foundation Doctors and GP Registrars.

- NVQ Level Three Care Certificate or equivalent qualification or working towards this
- Willingness to learn and acquire new skills
- Evidence of appropriate knowledge base

- Qualifications and Experience for Nurse Associate
- Registered nursing associate and on the Nursing and Midwifery Council register
Desirable
- HCA course specific to general practice
- Computer skills
- Experience of implementing Protocols and clinical guidelines
- Basic advanced certificate of life support
- Awareness of the national service framework guideline
- Understanding of health and safety issues
