Join our friendly and hardworking GP practice team as an Administrator, where youll play a vital role in keeping our service running smoothly and supporting both patients and clinicians every day. This is a fast-paced, people-focused role that combines administrative duties with some Reception work, requiring strong organisation, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
This is a full-time position of 37.5 hours per week. Were looking for someone who is reliable, proactive, and thrives in a team environment. Youll often be the first point of contact for patients, helping to create a welcoming and efficient experience while ensuring important administrative tasks are handled accurately and professionally.

Main duties of the job
- Answering the telephone and dealing with enquiries, re-directing where required.
- Actioning requests for repeat prescriptions using a computerised system, liaising with hospitals/pharmacies where appropriate.
- To open all post, except private and confidential items. To distribute to appropriate partner/manager/member of staff. To scan patient specific mail onto the clinical record.
- To enter and accurately read code relevant correspondence into the computer system.
- To summarise patient paper records onto the computer system.
- Check pathology test results have been received from the hospital, action normal results as appropriate and distribute to appropriate GPs.

We are a forward thinking, supportive team who currently care for approximately 7700 patients, with a higher than average elderly population.
Our well established team includes 7 GPs, 2 ANP's, 3 Practice Nurses and 1 HCA. We also benefit from the support of the additional roles within Neston & Willaston PCN, which includes services such as an acute paramedic visiting service, a clinical pharmacy team and physiotherapy support.

- To enter and accurately read code relevant correspondence into the computer system.
- To summarise patient records onto the computer system.
- Check pathology test results have been received from the hospital, action normal results as appropriate and distribute to appropriate GPs.
- To provide cover for annual leave/sickness within the administration team and reception.
- To be able to run searches on EMIS web and action as required.
- To action requests from Solicitors for copy medical records
- To action the call/recall system for patients with Chronic Diseases.
- To complete administrative work for GP contract/enhanced services, including CQRS.
- Ensure that the childhood vaccination and immunisation records are submitted to Cheshire Health Agency on a quarterly basis.
- Completion of the monthly FP34 returns for the Prescription Pricing Authority.
- Inputting/scanning all patient specific documents into the EMIS computer system and Docman system.
- Attend meetings and training as required.
- Understanding of and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality. This is to be maintained at all times whether in or out of working hours. Patient or practice matters must not be discussed outside of the premises.
- Any other duties, appropriate to the grade, as required from time to time, in consultation with the Practice Manager/Partners, to ensure the smooth running of the practice.
