Job summary
We are looking to recruit an experienced, motivated and enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant, with recent experience of working within a General Practice environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who enjoys patient interaction and being part of a well established team.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will support the clinical team to provide healthcare services to our patient population. The HCA will deliver these services within their competence and follow practice policies and procedures.
About us
We are a forward thinking, supportive team who currently care for approximately 7700 patients with a higher than average elderly population.
Our well-established team includes 7 GPs, 3 ACPs, 3 Practice Nurses, and 1 HCA. We also benefit from the support of the additional roles team within Neston & Willaston PCN, which includes services such as an acute paramedic visiting service, a clinical pharmacy team, and physiotherapy support.

Job responsibilities
Perform clinical procedures such as phlebotomy and ECGs. - Carry out general observations, including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, height, and weight measurements.
- Conduct health checks, including new patient checks, NHS Health Checks, and annual health assessments for patients aged 75 and over.
- Provide basic wound care and management.
- Record and monitor vaccine fridge temperatures in accordance with practice protocols.
- Maintain stock control, including monitoring clinical supplies and stocking of clinical rooms as necessary.
- Process and prepare clinical samples for laboratory collection in line with practice procedures.
- Adhere to infection prevention and control guidelines, ensuring compliance with practice protocols and national standards.
- Complete all mandatory training in accordance with practice and regulatory requirements.
- Attend team meetings and other relevant practice or network meetings as required.
- Maintain an awareness of adult and child safeguarding procedures and respond in line with local policies.
- Accurately document all clinical activity using practice-approved templates and systems.
