Job summary

Working under the direct supervision of the Nurse Practitioners and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, the healthcare assistant will assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.

Main duties of the job

Phlebotomy

Chaperoning duties

Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/nurses

Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording

Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation

Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms

Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being

Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual

NHS Healthchecks/ Pre-Diabetes Checks /Learning Disabilities

Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted

Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being

Administration of Flu Vaccines as per PSD

Administration of B12 Vaccines as per PSD

Simple Dressings

Smoking Cessation

About us

We are a friendly team of 25 members of staff, we work in Hednesford.

Hednesford Medical Practice was formed in 2019 when two surgeries merged Dr Murugan and Dr Chandra. The list size population is currently 6700+. On average this is increasing by 251 patients per year. Dr Sandeep Geeranavar is the GP Partner.

The list size is currently growing on average of 251 patients per year. There have been several new housing estates built over the last 10 years which is seeing an increase of potential patients. The Practice has the capacity to accept new patients.
