Job summary

7 Doctor GP Practice in North Bradford has a vacancy for a full time health care assistant. Start June 2026. Interview Date is Wednesday 22 April 2026 and sadly we cannot be flexible.

This post is full time over 5 days; Monday ( 8hrs) Tuesday (8 hrs) Wednesday ( 8 hrs) Thursday ( 8 hrs) and Friday ( 6 hrs) between 8.30 and 5.30 . If you cannot commit to this pattern of working then please do not apply

You will be working with an experienced team of practice nurses and health care assistants who are highly skilled, and exceptional standards of patient safety, care and governance

Main duties of the job

The role of health care assistant in primary care involves significant responsibility and skill.

You will be working in isolation in clinical room setting

You will be working to established protocols and have an excellent supporting team

We are seeking someone with extensive experience in general practice setting who can put patients at ease, and perform a wide range of tasks .

The successful individual will need to learn quickly, take instruction and evidence their encounters to the highest standard using System one GP software.

The Surgery is always busy but the role is varied greatly on a day to day basis. some stock control, cold chain procedures and waste management are essential requirments.

Ensure all actions are documented

Adhere to protocols and prcedures

Maintain mandatory training

Weekly nurse team meeting and debrief

Supporting the practice nursing team to provide full health checks for long term conditions reviews ( IHD, DIabetes, hypertension, CKD etc)

Bloods

BP checks

Urine DIps

ECG ( essential)

Diabetic foot checks

Simple wound care

stock control ( ordering and maintaining adequate stock)

cold chain procedures ( checking fridge daily and documenting)

We have a recall system which is led by the admin team

  • 24 hour BP trained
  • Spirometry Trained
  • Injections under PSD
