Job summary

Stourport Medical Centre 4 - 8 Sessions.

We are looking for a GP to join our large, friendly, supportive team at Stourport Medical Centre (SMC). We are a busy surgery, serving almost 22,000 patients.

We utilise the expertise of a large partnership, with our organisational structure already in place, so that we can offer an excellent working environment and a good work/life balance.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a keen and enthusiastic team player who can demonstrate commitment and flexibility with the drive to deliver a high standard of patient centric medicine whilst maximising primary care business opportunities. We are seeking Doctors who share our passion and who can assist the partnership to become the best it can be in a modern NHS.

SMC provide a well-supported induction for new GPs to include mentoring with a named Partner, regular personal development sessions and regular GP away days.

  • Each routine session is capped at 16 contacts
  • Supporting the ANP-led Visiting Team (infrequently)
  • Participate in the Duty Doctor am or pm sessions, typically once a week
  • Opportunity to participate in the Triage Doctor process
  • Structured induction Package
  • Educational meetings and supervision
  • Funded Salaried Away day teaching sessions, where you meet up with other salaried GPs from across the Partnership
  • Salary from £10k per session per annum dependent on experience
  • Indemnity paid by MDU
  • 6 weeks annual leave & 1 week study leave pro rata
  • An interest in minor ops
  • Any specialist interest is supported

WFHP has been operating since December 2014 as a single Partnership, operating out of 5 surgeries, 3 are purpose built. We operate at scale and are at the forefront of primary care delivery in how we organise ourselves, having management and leverage for a large number of primary care employees (c250 people & c50 GPs). We also look after c 72 000 patients. We have a very strong quality improvement ethic, and are always looking to improve.

WFHP is working towards the NHS goals to reach net zero greenhouse gas emissions as soon as possible. We actively encourage new staff to take an interest in this and build sustainable practice into their roles.
