Job summary

The main responsibilities of the post-holder will be to file clinical letters received in Docman, read code relevant information from patients clinical records into the partnership computer system and action documents, working strictly in accordance with the partnership document management protocol. This role will include working at or for all five surgeries.

Main duties of the job

The role includes:

  • Filing clinical letters into the patients electronic record
  • Read coding patients records, following receipt of hospital letters
  • Notification of relevant staff and organisations, following receipt of information from external organisations.
  • Actioning requests within documentation relating to our patients care
  • Understanding the patient record system, recall, coding and reporting requirements for QOF
  • Understanding the impact of clinical and non-clinical data input
  • Ensuring organisational and individual KPIs are met
  • Duties commiserate with level of responsibility and aim of role.
  • Auditing and reporting where required

Experience

Essential

  • Computing Skills (Microsoft Office/Excel).
  • Literate & able to perform numerical calculations.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.

Desirable

  • Good Knowledge of read coding and QOF.
  • Experience of working within Primary Care or a GP Surgery.

Personal Attributes

Essential

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Able to work as a team player and work independently.
  • IT skills.
  • Highly motivated .
  • Flexibility.
