Job summary
Cornerstone Practice is seeking GPs who are
looking for 4-8 sessions per week to come and join us as we expand
our multi-disciplinary team to provide whole person care to our large patient
population.
Main duties of the job
To provide primary and continuing medical care for patients in the
community, taking account of physical, emotional, and social factors when
diagnosing illness and recommending the required treatment. To work within a team alongside other care
providers to discuss the best care options for patients and encourage patients
to take responsibility for their own health.
Patient contact will be made through either in person, telephone or online communication.
On call duties will be shared across GPs according on a pro rata basis.
Our employed GPs will be moving to 15 minute appointments as standard from October 2023.

Cornerstone Practice is a
friendly team led by a strong GP Partnership,
supported by an excellent management team. Celebrating
35 years in 2023, we have four sites (3 in Blackburn,
1 in Oswaldtwistle). Our practice has Christian values which are reflected through the way we work. As well as our 7 Partners, we have a team of excellent
salaried GPs and healthcare professionals.
We are an accredited training practice, training
and supporting GP Registrars, AHPs,
Practice Nurses and Clinical Pharmacists. We serve 26,500 patients and we
particularly want to care for those living in deprived communities.
Blackburn is situated in a beautiful part of Lancashire, and our
surgeries are all easily accessible from the M65.

General/Personal Medical Services to the patients of The Cornerstone

- Work
supportively alongside clinical and administrative colleagues in ensuring
the highest standard of care for all Practice patients, including covering
for absent colleagues.
- Maintain
accurate, contemporaneous, and correctly coded records to relevant
professional and Practice standards and guidelines.
Undertake various duties including surgery consultations,
telephone consultations and queries, home visits, checking and signing repeat
and acute prescription requests as well as dealing with paperwork and
correspondence
