This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Practice Nurse to join our team at Woodseats Medical Centre. The practice is currently looking for an experienced, motivated and enthusiastic Practice Nurse to join our friendly and professional clinical team. We are looking for someone who will share our commitment to providing excellent healthcare to our patients.
Main duties of the job
The Practice Nurse will be required to undertake chronic disease management, cervical cytology, childhood vaccinations, wound care, travel vaccinations, family planning and general Practice nursing duties. Some training can be given for the right candidate.

We are a Six GP Partner Practice with a practice population over 11,500 patients and this is increasing.
We have a well established and settled Nursing Team comprising of 4 Practice Nurses, 4 Healthcare Assistants, and a Trainee Nurse Associate.

Cytology
Wound and ulcer care including removal of sutures and staples
Day to day management of chronic diseases clinics such as COPD, Asthma and Diabetes including maintaining disease registers, management of condition, referrals to other members of the primary care team, audit outcomes of care against standards and initiate changes as necessary
Routine immunisations and vaccinations schedule
Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs, bloods
Contraception advice including Depo and pill checks
Administration of injections including b12
Anticoagulation clinics
Care planning and implementation
Infection control monitoring
Day to day use of recall systems/processes
NHS Health Checks
Ordering supplies including vaccinations
New patient medicals
Venepuncture
Ear syringing
