Job summary
We are looking to recruit an experienced clinical coder to join our busy Practice.
You will be responsible for the clinical coding of all relevant information into patients medical records using the EMIS clinical system, maintaining accurate and confidential patient records in line with data protection standards.
The job will be 20 hours per week , times and days to be discussed at interview.
We are a 4 partner practice, 3 salaried GP's , 2 AP's, a dedicated Nursing Team, 9641 Patient list size, and a friendly reception team.
Main duties of the job
- Accurately code clinical records
- Review all incoming correspondence filing the document and entering pertinent information into the patient's medical record in accordance with the coding protocol.
- Liaise where necessary with the appropriate staff to clarify information for coding purposes
- Highlight clinical action and workflow to appropriate the clinician or team.
- Maintain accurate, confidential patient records in line with data protection standards.
- Processing workflow accurately from electronic and scanned documents coding procedure, diagnosis and all relevant QOF information adding diary dates where needed.
- Organise the medical records of patients whom you are coding to link problem titles.
- Liaise with patients regarding any relevant information to ensure safeguarding information is correctly coded and inform safeguarding clinical and admin lead when required.

We are a busy GP Practice in Wigan Town Centre and we have a broad patient demographic.
We are based in a purpose built health centre and have on site parking.
