Job summary

Previous GP surgery is desirable but not essential. Salary will be dependent on previous experience. Full training and support will be given.

This GP surgery Receptionist role will offer you a set working pattern that will include 3 shifts per week working Tuesday 1:00pm 6:30pm, Wednesday 1:00pm 6.30pm and Thursday 1.00pm- 6:30pm.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant would need to ideally have previous Reception/customer services experience dealing with the general public with a good telephone manner and the ability to deal with and remain calm when dealing with difficult situations in a firm but empathetic manner.

Part of your role will be responding to and dealing with patients face to face, telephone, texting and emailing so you must enjoy working with the public and helping people.

Previous experience working in a GP Practice would be desirable but not essential as training will be given. Must have very good IT skills for this role and the ability to multi-task.

Use of Microsoft Office products is required to enable support administratively with dealing with emails, texting system, using the EMIS patient system to book appointments, book blood test requests, dealing with patient prescription requests and queries, scanning documents and general office duties.
