Job summary

The Bridges Medical Practice is looking for a motivated individual to join our administration team. The role involves processing clinical correspondence received from secondary care and other services involved with our patients' treatment. We already have 2 members of staff who do this work so need a candidate who works well in a team.

We are a large busy practice based in Weymouth town centre, which aims to provide high quality patient care. Our clinicians include GPs, Advanced Care Practitioners, Physios, Nurses and Health Care Assistants. Our administration team includes Receptionists, Secretaries, Clinical PA and Office Assistants.

We a friendly supportive team who adapts to change and looks for new ways of working to support our staff and improve patient care.

Main duties of the job

Job Summary

Analysing and inputting data in patients' electronic clinical records, processing correspondence and passing on information to the relevant team member if needed.

Working within a team to ensure all correspondence are dealt with in a timely manner.

  • Coding of diagnoses and procedures in patients' medical records
  • Record and communicate concerns regarding medical diagnoses/information in records to appropriate medical professional(s).
  • Ensure information pertaining to Child Safeguarding is passed to the relevant medical professionals caring for that child and to the Child Safeguarding Administrators
    • Process EConsults on a weekly basis and when needed to cover colleagues leave.
    • Assist colleagues with IT issues.
    • Any other ad-hoc tasks as required.
