Job summary

To ensure that an efficient system is in place to create all relevant correspondence required by clinicians and Practice Manager and that it is dealt with in a prompt and efficient manner.

To ensure that you respond to day-to-day enquiries and take relevant appropriate independent protocol guided action ensuring satisfactory completion of these enquiries

To ensure that the secretarial working environment is efficiently administered

In keeping with the role of Practice secretary to the clinical team any other duties that may be determined by the Practice Manager.

We are looking to appoint a full time Medical Secretary, Monday to Friday to enhance our secretarial team. The job will entail providing secretarial support to GPs and other Healthcare professionals in the Practice. Previous medical secretary experience is desirable

Qualifications

Essential

  • Use of Microsoft packages including Word Processing, Excel etc
  • Audio Typing

Desirable

  • Medical Secretarial qualification including medical terminology inclduing typing qualification RSA 2 or above

Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience of working as a Medical Secretary of at least 1 year.
  • Proven use of Medical Terminology
  • Worked in an environment where there has been a need for an understanding and adherence to the concept of strict confidentiality

Desirable

  • Previous experience of working as a medical secretary in general practice
