PCN BUSINESS MANAGER

Job summary

The role of the PCN Business Manager is to assist the members of the PCN to work collaboratively and provide a central source of management and leadership.

The ideal candidate will need to be proactive, have a passion for primary care, and have a proven track record in delivering projects and managing the expectations of multiple stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will also have a strong finance background with ability to manage budgets, management accounts and cashflow reports.

Strong IT skills to lead on digital transformation projects.

The remit of this role is broad and will require attention to detail in delivering high-quality day-to-day operations.

Main duties of the job

Be responsible for the delivery and having operational oversight of projects and services committed to, or commissioned by, the PCN. Provide strong financial leadership, resourcing and regulatory compliance of the work of the PCN. Work in partnership with the PCN Clinical Director to ensure the smooth running of the Network. Have the vision and ability to lead and adapt to NHS targets and change to maintain an efficient, profitable organisation and develop a happy, productive working environment. Develop and maintain effective communication both within the network and with other relevant outside agencies. Co-ordinate the delivery of enhanced services and other service submissions on behalf of the Network.Support recruitment, induction, and training of new PCN staff (ARRS) where required.

Work closely with Practice Managers to support planning and delivery of targets and improvements. Applying for PCN development funds and resources to help the network achieve its objectives.To be first point of contact between member practices and PCN.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to GCSE or equivalent (GCSE Maths & English C or above)
  • Management / leadership experience
  • Understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion
  • Knowledge of IT systems to include the ability to use word processing skills, emails and internet
  • An understanding of the nature of general practice and Primary Care Networks
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships whilst maintaining appropriate professional boundaries
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels inc. patients and carers, specialist services, GPs and colleagues.
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate complex and sensitive information in an understandable form to a variety of audiences
  • Experience of partnership/collaborative working and of building relationships across a variety of organisations including the voluntary sector
  • Good technical literacy of Microsoft Office Applications
  • Sound knowledge of finance (budget, feasibility report, P&L statement, Yearly accounts etc)
  • HR experience, including having difficult conversations
