Job summary
The job description is only an outline of the general expectations any allocated individual rota based roles and is subject to change depending on personal development and or when any new implementation of change is introduced by the Management team for the best practice of the surgery.
The successful candidate will be able to prioritise all incoming telephone calls are answered on a timely manner. Dealing with patient queries and triaging appropriately the correct pathway for the patients query. Making appointments and dealing with patients needs in a respectful manner in accordance with the philosophy of doctors. Good time keeping is essential.
Main duties of the job
Paperless working environment is encouraged. In house training will always be provided for any workflow introduced.
All GP queries and tasks are to be sent via EMIS.
A rotation basis is to be followed for the management of the surgery email discharge box. All incoming letters/documents etc. are to be work-flowed via the clinical system.
Where required and depending on training required prescription queries and routine requests are to be sent to the GPs according to the in house rota.
Dealing with queries appropriately, always applying confidentiality at all times.
Attend courses and meetings as arranged by the Practice Manager, even if this is outside working hours.
Always making sure to accurately update any patient contact made into patients notes where appropriate record is required.
Implement information governance requirements, confidentiality, data protection and freedom of information acts.
When on Reception, any scanning pending to be scanned onto the patients records when actioned or work flowed to the GP.
Acknowledging all Practice Protocols and Policies on the shared drive.
Always to respond to any correspondence sent by the Practice Manager via email etc.
