Job summary
We are a busy surgery in South Ockendon with a
branch surgery in West Horndon looking for a Receptionist to join our friendly
team.
As the first point of contact for patients you will be required to deal with queries, answering patients calls, booking appointments and carrying out daily administrative tasks.
Main duties of the job
Ideally you will
have experience of working as a Receptionist in general practice and knowledge
of SystmOne, but full training will be given.
The successful candidate must have the ability to communicate professionally and have good listening skills.
As we operate from
two sites, you may be required to work from either site. Applicants must be fully flexible with working hours between 8am to 6:30pm Monday to Friday.

We are a rapidly
expanding Dispensing practice with 8,000 patients over both surgeries and you will be required to work within a busy team, in a fast paced environment.

- Maintaining and monitoring
the practice appointment system
- Using the appointment system
to make appointments
- Answer incoming phone calls,
transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately
- Signpost patients to the
correct service
- Deal with incoming and
outgoing correspondence
- Contacting and responding to
requests from patients, team members and external agencies
- Read code data on SystmOne
- Data entry of new and
temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required
- Input data into the patients
records as necessary
- Scanning of patient related
documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients healthcare
records
- Maintain a clean, tidy,
effective working area at all times
- Monitor and maintain the
reception area and notice boards
- Support all clinical staff
with general tasks as requested
