Job summary
We
are looking for an experienced HCA to join the team for 37.5 hours per week at Marsden Medical Group. Working
alongside our Nurses, NA's, SNA's and HCA's the successful candidate will be part of a large nursing
team who work across two sites supporting the diverse clinical team.
We are particularily interested in candidates who have expereince in dressings (Simple wound care managemen tunder supervision of nursing team), phlebotomy and spirometry.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for our new team member to have the following skills:
Phlebotomy
Dressings (Simple wound care management)
Removal of stitches/clips
Blood Pressure checks (24 hour monitoring desirable)
Dip Urine
Injections (B12, Flu)
We are particularily interested in candidates who have expereince in Spirometry, Long Term Condition data gathering.

Job responsibilities
Working under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager and senior practice nurses and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols and within the scope of their practice, the healthcare assistant will assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care, including preventative care, health promotion and patient education.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Phlebotomy
- Spirometry
- Assisting the Practice Nurse with Long Term Condition Management
- Undertake wound care, dressings and other clinical tasks as required under supervision of the Practice Nurse
- Administer Injections under PSD
- Facilitate routine and 24-hour BP monitoring, advising patients accordingly
- Chaperoning duties
- Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/nurses
- Sterilising, cleansing and maintenance of surgical equipment
- Vaccine/cold chain storage monitoring and recording of fridge temperatures.
- Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms
- Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being
- Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual
- Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted
- Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being
- Assist the wider team with adhering with the practice IPC policy
- Additional duties as required by scope of the role
