Job summary

Nursing Associates bridge the gap between Healthcare Assistants and Registered Nurses, playing a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care.

In primary care, you will support the clinical team by conducting assessments, administering treatments, and promoting health and well-being. Your work enhances patient access to care, ensuring a smooth and efficient service within the practice.

Main duties of the job

  • Patient Assessments:Conduct clinical observations, including blood pressure, pulse, oxygen levels, temperature, and respiratory rate.
  • Wound Care & Dressings:Perform simple wound care & dressings, and removal of sutures/clips.
  • Chronic Disease Monitoring:Support management of long-term conditions such as diabetes, COPD, and hypertension through routine checks and patient education.
  • Phlebotomy & Sample Collection:Take blood, urine, and swab samples for diagnostic testing.
  • Administering Medications:Provide vaccinations, including child immunisations, flu vaccines, and other injections as required.

To support the practice in the delivery of nursing services, working as part of the multidisciplinary team to complement existing workforce. This role will provide nursing support to the Practice Nurses and General Practitioners to ensure provision of holistic and person-centred care of the full range of nursing services to the entitled patient population.
