Folkestone Eye Centre is an NHS community-based outpatient clinic, bringing expert eye care closer to patients homes.
The service is a joint venture owned and run by the partnership of Newton Place Surgery and a group of local expert Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeons.
The service is located at our newly renovated premises within Basepoint in Folkestone. We have the most up to date diagnostic and surgical equipment on site, including a state-of-the-art cataract surgery suite. We have recently expanded into running dermatology outpatient clinics and nurse led biopsy lists.
We are looking for a part-time receptionist and administrator for our clinic. As a person, you should be passionate about giving great healthcare, enthusiatic to learn, have great organisational skills and have an empathetic nature.
We are a growing service, and no two days are the same. If you enjoy working in administration and have the relevent skill-set, then we would love to hear from you.
Main duties of the job
To cover the reception desk during times of
clinics. To welcome patients in a
friendly and inviting manner. To be
professional at all times.
Deal with telephone voicemails that arrive into the
department in a friendly and timely manner.
Undertake telephone follow-up calls for patients who
have had their cataract surgery
To use a range of different IT software systems
To process IOL order forms after weekend surgery has
taken place
Filing of patient paperwork
Booking of appointments
Booking theatre lists
Email / telephone queries
Receiving deliveries and unpacking them in the store room in an organised way.
About us
Folkestone Eye Centre is a small and friendly team. We have two other members of admin, one of whom is full-time and the other part-time. There is an overall Service Lead who is the manager of the clinic.
The atmosphere at Folkestone Eye Centre is a very warm and welcoming one. As we have a newly-renovated premises the working environment is very pleasant. We all have an excellent working ethic and support each other on a daily basis. We look after each other, here at The Folkestone Eye Centre.
We work alongside our team of Consultant Ophthalmologists who are very supportive and responsive to queries that you might have. The visiting dermatology team are also very friendly and helpful.
We offer 25 days' annual leave (pro-rata), plus bank holidays. You also have the opportunity to join the NHS pension scheme.
