Main duties of the job

Clinical Responsibilities

The post-holder will deliver agreed clinical sessions, typically comprising 13 x 15-minute consultations, administrative tasks, and potential home visits.

Duties include... Acting on alerts and reminders e.g., QOF during routine consultations. Providing comprehensive GP services, including history taking, examination, investigation, diagnosis, treatment, and referral where appropriate. Offering preventative health care and advice. Supporting patients referred to the GP by other surgery staff. Prescribing in line with local and national formulary guidelines. Exercising professional autonomy in clinical decision-making. Maintaining accurate, contemporaneous IT-based records. Collecting data for audit purposes. Issuing acute and repeat prescriptions.

In general, the post-holder will undertake all duties expected of a GP within primary care.

Other Responsibilities Supporting practice staff and responding to requests for advice. Attending MDT, clinical, and practice meetings. Delivering enhanced services to meet patient needs and optimise practice income. Complying with all practice policies and guidelines, including prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety, and annual QOF requirements.

Compile and issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions
