We are looking for passionate and experienced Paramedic to join our established and friendly team at Glastonbury Surgery.
The role offers a varied and structured working day, offering a mixture of same-day appointments and a selection of home visits to the registered population. You will play an integral role in a wider multi-disciplinary team, working under the guidance and clinical supervision of GPs.
The job offers a 30 hour working week with a flexible working pattern (Monday - Friday) which will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate.
We are interested in someone that holds an Advanced Clinical Practice Masters qualification and a competent non-medical prescriber.
The successful candidate will be supported with a comprehensive and tailored induction plan, with a commitment to ongoing training and development that is adapted to meet the needs and aspirations of the individual.
The role will be employed through a West Mendip Primary Care Network contract and working 30 hours at Glastonbury Surgery.

Main duties of the job
- Undertake
structured surgeries working in an autonomous role including the
management of patients presenting with new problems or exacerbation of
chronic disorders.
- Engage
in the planning an delivery of patient home visits, including both acute
visits and the management of chronic medical problems in the house-bound.
- Undertake
the supervision of triage by admin staff.
- Liaise
with and advise the nurse lead to ensure most appropriate use of resources.

Work as part of a team to offer a high standard of evidence-based care to patients, including health promotion, treatment, screening, and disease management.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Assess and triage patients, including same day triage, and as appropriate provide definitive treatment or make necessary referrals.
- Advise patients on general healthcare and promote self-management where appropriate, including signposting patients to other community or voluntary services.
- Undertake the supervision of triage by admin staff and taking responsibility for quality and training.

- perform specialist health checks and reviews
- perform and interpret ECGs; alongside other results as appropriate
- perform investigatory procedures as required
