Main duties of the job
To greet patients in an appropriate manner, paying
attention to the particular needs of the patients and recognising the anxieties
which are often associated with a visit to the practice
To ensure that patients are greeted and handled with
respect
To follow practice Confidentiality Policy at all times
Prepare for forthcoming surgeries i.e. students, CDM
clinics
Ensure the waiting areas are organised, tidied and lit
to the benefit of all patients
Check for overdue interventions and/or diary entries
and make appointment with the appropriate clinician as directed by Clinical
Administration Team
Electronic
filing of identified documents as and when appropriate
To sort & assign requests for clinical
intervention via AccuRX and to take and process requests from patients without
internet access via telephone, by email and internet
To accept requests for home visits according to the
practice policy
To receive and process repeat prescription requests
To record messages accurately and ensure they have
been acknowledged according to practice policy
To accept requests for repeat prescriptions and issue
as appropriate in line with practice policy
To ensure that all tasks in the Receptionist Pool are
completed by the end of your shift
To liaise with colleagues regarding annual and or sick
leave cover
Any additional duties as may arise
