We are looking to recruit an Occupational Health Nurse to work up to 22.5 hours on a fixed term contract until October 2027 (with a view to extend subject to contract extensions).

Arc Occupational Health is a newly established service developed to meet the growing occupational health needs of our member practices and the wider community. We aim to provide a high-quality, accessible and responsive service that promotes the health, well being, and productivity of local workforces.

As the service expands the successful post holder will actively develop new contracts with local key stakeholders, positioning Arc Occupational Health as a trusted provider of comprehensive occupational health services in Chesterfield, Dronfield, and beyond.

Main duties of the job

We have an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Health Nurse to join us to:

  • provide a comprehensive occupational health service
  • perform a variety of clinical tasks including managing referrals, conducting health surveillance, pre-placement screening, and workplace/DSE assessments.
  • provide immunisation assessments, vaccine administration,

and other occupational health screening requirements.

This is an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Health Nurse to independently provide a comprehensive occupational health service, performing a variety of clinical tasks including managing referrals, conducting health surveillance, pre-placement screening, and workplace/DSE assessments. The role also encompasses immunisation assessments, vaccine administration, and other occupational health screening requirements.

The post holder will be responsible for delivering these services to both NHS and non-NHS client. Management referrals are carried out remotely via telephone or Microsoft Teams, serving organisations nationwide, including those in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

  • To deliver an exemplar Occupational Health (and Wellbeing) service in accordance with Department of Health guidelines and current legislation.
  • To provide occupational health surveillance, screening and immunisation.
  • To carry out pre-placement, night and DSE (Display Screen Equipment) Assessment
  • To deliver a highly visible, proactive, comprehensive and clinically sound employee occupational health nursing service to employees of ARC and customers from the public and private sector, with a focus on preventing ill health, reducing sickness absence and increasing workforce productivity
  • With minimum guidance and supervision, participate in the provision of a full range of employee Health and Wellbeing services as described under the six NHS core Occupational Health services; prevention, timely intervention, rehabilitation, health assessments for work, promotion of health & well-being and teaching & training.
  • Ensure all clinical practice is evidence based
  • Participate in clinical audit service provision evaluation.

This is an evolving role, and the duties and responsibilities may change in accordance with the developing service and needs for the patients.

The role is pivotal to improving the quality of care and operational efficiencies so requires motivation and passion to develop the role and to deliver an excellent service for housebound patients and patients in residential facilities
