Job summary
Burnley Group Practice is a large training practice delivering a wide range of primary care services across three sites in Burnley. We are looking for an experienced phlebotomist to join our excellent clinical and multi-disciplinary team to support and deliver a high quality service to patients. This is a new role in the Practice and although predominantly delivered from one of the Practice sites, you will also at times, carry out home visits to housebound patients who require blood tests.
The role will be for 25-30 hours per week to be worked Monday to Friday. The exact pattern would be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate.
Main duties of the job
This person will provide a full and comprehensive venepuncture service for our patients. Ideally you will have experience with paediatric venepuncture but this is not essential and training can be provided as necessary.
You will work independently following clear protocols and guidelines and will ensure clear and competent record keeping into our EMIS clinic software system.
You will have excellent communication skills and treat all patients with dignity and respect.
As we have a number of housebound patients, you will be required to carry out home visits for this group of patients should they require blood tests so it is essential you are a car owner/driver and have access to a vehicle during your working day.
